About the role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in manufacturing to lead our finance function. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial health of the company, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our growth objectives.
Role responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures tailored to a pre-revenue and manufacturing environment.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis for management and stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Lead the financial aspects of the transition from R&D to manufacturing, including cost accounting, inventory management, and capital expenditure planning.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax obligations.
- Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions as required.
- Mentor and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar professional
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Experience with financial planning, analysis, and reporting in a pre-revenue or R&D company is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the renewable energy or technology sectors.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in ESOP
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial modelling.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
