About the role

Hysata is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Facility Logistics Assistant to join our Facility Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading / unloading of trucks, receipting of goods, general warehouse tasks, managing the kitting process and supporting process improvements. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics, warehousing and inventory management as we scale up our manufacturing capacity.

Role responsibilities

Receipting of Goods

    • Receive incoming goods, inspect for quality and quantity, and accurately record receipt of items;
    • Update inventory systems and ensure proper storage and allocation of received goods;
    • Communicate any issues or discrepancies with the procurement team and other internal stakeholders;
    • Return of goods and materials as required;
    • Identifying overstocked or under utilised items;
    • Asset Tagging; and
    • Electrical Test and Tag (training provided if not currently qualified).

Loading and Unloading of Goods

    • Safely load and unload goods from delivery vehicles;
    • Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage;
    • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required;
    • Efficient storage of materials;
    • Efficient staging of incoming and outgoing materials; and
    • Packaging outgoing materials for transportation.

General Warehouse Support, Maintenance and Assembly

    • Basic routine maintenance of facilities fixtures and fittings;
    • Signage installations and updates;
    • Assisting maintenance technician with minor maintenance tasks as required;
    • Assisting safety manager with minor safety initiatives; and
    • Site and Area 5s champion.

Inventory Management

    • Assist engineering teams with inventory control, stocking, storing, tracking and replenishment of materials;
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate and timely updates to inventory records;
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts;
    • Assist in reordering supplies and materials as needed;
    • Assisting with chemical inventory; and
    • Managing grey waste and spares.

Kitting Process

    • Prepare and assemble kits containing the necessary parts and materials for various projects and operational needs;
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of kits according to production requirements and BOMs; and
    • Maintain records of kitting activities and report any discrepancies.

Process Improvement

    • Identify opportunities for improving warehousing, logistics and inventory processes;
    • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs;
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for operational enhancements.

Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other team members to coordinate logistics activities;
    • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of all facility areas.

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Certificate or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, warehousing, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus;
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and maintaining records;
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (HRW & EWP Licence highly desired);
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; and
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in an engineering, manufacturing or industrial setting;
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies;
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in logistics and warehousing;
  • Experience with kitting for components, receipting of goods, and general facility tasks;
  • Experience in conducting end-of-month stocktakes and monitoring inventory levels of facility supplies.
