Hysata has appointed Dean Dalla Valle, a leading heavyweight in resources, as
its inaugural Chair.

Dean joins Hysata’s board after spending four decades in the resources and
infrastructure sectors. From his past roles as Chief Commercial Officer at BHP
and Chief Executive Officer at Pacific National, he brings valuable experience to
Hysata as the company continues to build inroads with global investors and
customers.

“We are extremely proud to welcome Dean to the board of Hysata. His expertise
will have a huge impact on our mission to deliver the world’s most efficient,
simple and reliable electrolyser.

“Dean is a perfect fit as Chair of Hysata’s board. We will draw on his extensive
global experience managing multi-billion-dollar deals and passion for the local
region to get this home-grown technology to global scale.

“Additionally, his knowledge of the resources sector can be applied to advance
the renewable energy industry and create value-add green exports for Australia
including green iron, alumina, ammonia and methanol,” Hysata CEO Paul Barrett
concluded.

“The Illawarra region has a strong legacy in manufacturing and has huge
potential to support emerging clean energy industries as it transitions from its
foundational enterprises. I’m excited to join Hysata and be part of this locally-
born, leading-edge technology with the potential to create a new manufacturing
industry in Australia and accelerate the global energy transition,” said Dean
Dalla Valle.

“There is significant current and growing global demand for hydrogen
electrolysers to help decarbonise the hard-to-abate sectors that account for 15-
20% of the worlds emissions. Hysata’s transformative efficiency and approach to
mass manufacturing will redefine the economics of green hydrogen,” said Dean
Dalla Valle.

Local to the Illawarra region, Dean began his career at BHP as a 17-year-old
electrical apprentice. Dean will join the existing board and is the latest in a
number of distinguished new hires joining Hysata, including Dr Alan Finkel who
joined as chair of Hysata’s Global Advisory Council in 2022.

The Global Advisory Council is separate to the board and is tasked with providing
input into Hysata’s strategy for delivering its electrolyser globally into multiple
customer segments including steelmaking, heavy transport, and the chemical
industry.
