Sydney, Australia, 6 September 2023: Hysata received a top honour at the 2023 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards on 6 September 2023, being named Startup of the Year!

Hysata CEO Paul Barrett and one of our technology inventors Linh Hoang were delighted and humbled to accept the award on behalf of the Hysata team from 1835i’s Head of Ventures David Rowe.

The award is incredible recognition for Hysata’s passionate team who are deeply committed to our mission of accelerating the world’s shift away from fossil fuels to green hydrogen by delivering the world’s most efficient electrolyser.

Hysata’s technology demonstrates world-leading 95% system efficiency, offering cost-competitive green hydrogen to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors such as steel, chemical manufacture and heavy transport.

The category was judged by key industry figures from across Australia’s startup ecosystem, and included electricity utility software Neara and metabolic health platform Vively as finalists.

Paul said he was grateful and humbled to receive Hysata’s first company award, which is testament to the outstanding work of the team.

“This is a significant achievement for our dedicated team. We’re bringing disruptive innovation to the world, and we’re truly humbled by this recognition.

“We are now focused on rapidly scaling our technology at our electrolyser manufacturing facility in Port Kembla to fulfil a multi-billion dollar pipeline from across the world.”

Thank you to Startup Daily Editor Simon Thomsen, John Kearney from AWS and keynote speaker Larry Marshall, for an insightful talk on translating Australia’s innovation to commercial outcomes.

Headquartered in Wollongong, we are well on our way to deploy Australia’s innovation globally!
